What should I do if I am injured on the job?

Contact Heather Navarre during working hours. On weekends or after hours, call the clinical supervisor who is on-call and they will guide you through the procedure.

Can I work if I have a cold?

We decide this on a case-by-case basis. It depends how ill you are, and the client’s preference. Some families will allow you to work with a mask, and we will check with them as the situation arises. However, some of our clients are more susceptible to illness than others, so we will recommend that you don’t work with them if you are ill. If you are unsure, contact your clinical supervisor or supervisor on-call.

How far in advance do I have to call in sick?

Since we have a responsibility to send only trained nurses to our client’s homes, we need as much lead time as possible to adequately replace you.

What if my client is hospitalized?

If you still wish to work, Alliance Nursing will make every effort to keep you working should there be a break in service from your regularly scheduled client. We will appreciate your flexibility in this situation.
